It is a constant source of puzzlement to me - why people like Land Rovers but I enjoy Kim's restoration thread never the less.
This coming from a man who likes Bedford TK's.

By the way, did you drill the jack base at all prior to galvanising? Just curious how you had it suspended.Hey everyone,
I know it's been an eternity since I've posted. Been so busy as I'm sure you've seen by my new job post. Anyway, about two weeks ago I got my galvanising back it needs finishing, it also then needs painting after I T wash it. I was going to attempt to T wash and paint some today but right now the weather is so bad and the temperature may mean it won't dry without a special hardener so I think I'll order that and try again next week with it. I'll see if my friend can come help me though.
Here's a pic of the galavanising

I'm very happy, my only concern is cleaning the threads out. I don't want to damage them but I think it's going to be very tricky.
I was hoping to make a move last weekend and earlier this one but I'm having to be a bit careful. I've done my knee in again. We'll see what needs to happen after an MRI but until then I just have to take it slow.
If I do any today. Like always I'll get some pics up later.
Kim
I didn't. I'm not sure to be honest. I think either they ruined it or the shot blaster hasn't done their job right. It looks awful, there's a couple bits like it but nothing as bad as it.By the way, did you drill the jack base at all prior to galvanising? Just curious how you had it suspended.
Days off? You're obviously on days off?
Hahaha that's funnyLove the last couple of pictures, most people would have a line full of washing, but not KimB
Days off?
Nope. I was on crutches for a week. I've not had a day off. It was okay driving just was slower loading.Aye, from hauling BIG loads all over the country.

You could only dream of such possibilities. It'll be done. One day. I really do hate this stage though. Painting is the worst thing.Hey Kim is this truck finished yet? I cant be assed to go back and look through ALL of the pages. Made me chuckle to see it come up. I still haven't finished me "Poo-Zuki", Which is going to be mint when it is finished and will run rings around your landy
You've read my mind, apparently. The plan is to paint the exact same bits in Raptor. So, I guess I'll just wait and see how all this turns out first. As I said, I spent the day today sorting the galvanising. It's taken me a while, hobbling round haha. Anyway thanks to Mr migwire once again , Removed all the horrible little hangers which I later found handy

Sorted the parts I wanted to paint then prepped them. After a bit of deciding and conversations with friends. I decided that using UPOL tub liner was the best and most durable paint for general wear items. So I'm going to paint all of the interior parts with it. It's also a good sound deadener from what I've been told.
Anyway, I t washed the bits. Then painted them I'm going to do a load more maybe next weekend. Now that the seat box bits are done I can at least re assemble it and get the batter and wiring back in place.

I just went and took the bits off the line. I'm definitely doing everything in it. It's very durable. It's also a great sound deadener. Even just one coat (which is all I'm doing on the galvanised stuff) it stops it resonating so badly. You've read my mind, apparently. The plan is to paint the exact same bits in Raptor. Yeah, my original thought was to use it to isolate the rear tub floor supports after galvanising, as well as the underside and interior rear tub itself, but now I'm thinking front and second row floors, and footwells. Still undecided about the seat box, though.I just went and took the bits off the line. I'm definitely doing everything in it. It's very durable. It's also a great sound deadener.
