best way to sort your problem Pete is to use coiled wagon susies with plugs on trailer and towing vehicle and keep the susies in the towing vehicle not on the trailers

Okay so again ive made the towing socket and changed it up a little bit

whether you like it or not I'm showing the photos haha

Marked it out quite quickly and decided to change it up ever so slightly. As you will see..
Marked it all out again and drilled all the holes to start as I thought it'd be easier to get that done with

can you spot the difference from the last ???

If not it's the third 13mm hole I drilled right here, Drilled to create a radius, I wonder if you can spot the problem here too...

Yup I drilled the hole in the wrong place :doh:

no bother.. I didn't put the drill away :whistle:

Anyway re drilled and cut out, my jigsawing skills are nothing to brag about so this is after filing it square and sorting the curve at the end

Then using my trusty bender (which I'm yet to finish :rolleyes:

) we have a perfect 90deg angle

Cut some gussets out and changed the dimmensions over the previous ones. Welded them on

looks good, I must confess my welder was playing up again on the one in the photo so I ground it down and re welded it

half tempted t grind it back down again and leave it flush on the end ? What's your thoughts

Absolutely thrilled

it's so much better and so much stronger. Least that's another thing sorted now to sort wiring looms to the rear.

Bah! I remade my towing bracket last week and yours is shedloads better than mine-flippin gurls doin weldin n stuff betterer than me-grrrrump, why dontya take up tapestry or knittin or summat :laughing:

Thanks and for £12 for the plug and socket if it ever does get damaged I won't care. I've never seen one get damaged yet though. As well it's high up so can't see it ever getting hit.

No, KimB has made it dual purpose, can also be used as a recovery point :laughing:

Hi Kim , great job as usual , just out of interest seeing as you have a 13 pin socket are you going to wire it the same as you would for a caravan ie include a live feed for caravan fridge etc , might be useful if for example you had work lights on your trailer you could use that feed ? Also the rubber thingy is a grommet and you should already know what a gusset is :dontknow:

Hi, Kim, A gusset goes across the whole joint and a fillet or web goes across the corner.

Luckily the wiring on my car is a genuine two plug loom so yes I will have it filly wired in

I did thing about work lights but the main thing for me is reverse light. And the charging as I have a winch on my trailer.
I didn't know what gussets in pants were but just looked :doh:
