Hey, congratulations. My dad used to say that women made the best lorry drivers. he worked as a fitter/relief driver at a heavy haulage company. They had a woman driver called Sandra, a little tiny woman you would hardly even take notice of. She was one of their better drivers, I remember he told me that one day several drivers had rolled into the yard, sized up a spot and decided against it then drove to the far end where there were more spaces but a long walk back. Sandra rolled in, swung round and backed a 40-footer into the gap without stopping.

Thanks Pete, ironically all the trainers and assessers I've met recently have all said the same thing
I went in on Wednesday never driven an arctic, passed on the Friday with 6minors, three of which were hesitation 
was on test for getting on 2h also which was awfully unfair. Normally only 1h.

Reminds me of a story from WW2, US airbase with all the pilots standing around as the weather was too bad to fly when out of the gloom a plane lands and out jumps a female ferry pilot

I used to sheet and shunt before taut liner trailers came in and 40 foot trailers were always the favourites. We had all sizes ranging from 28 footers and they were a sod to get into the bays if you were in a hurry.

That's a surprise because I thought women had trouble gauging sizes, most probably because of all the men saying "Honestly, its six inches long!".

Sorry, its from a joke I heard about a USAF female trainee struggling to land a helicopter, she was told to slide in from the side 6" above the pad, each time she tried she failed as she was too low. It was only when she actually got a tape measure out and realised how big 6" was that she cracked it. Her comment being all the men who had told her "Honestly, its 6" long" were lying!

My wife says that's why she can't reverse park being told that "----------------------------------" is nine inches. (adjust accordingly for your monitor resolution) Well done on passing the test Kim.

Been struggling a bit with motivation today.
Spent a while sorting the pipes, this involved a lot of labelling and working out where they all mount
super boring, but anyway they're off to Mk performances hoses said it'll be about a month to do as they have to get templates made then he'll sort my hoses hurrah 
Anyway something I did want to do today was sort the rear bulkhead seat belt mounting peice. It's been taking to long and annoying me now. I decided to change the wooden template a bit so I could screw it to that then bent the shorter peice that snapped
Unfortunately it's left a gap where it's not stretched correctly. Ill finalise it Monday and drop it to be welded and get back next week then I can cut it to size, drill the holes and mount it up. I'll then take it back to the fab shop to be welded to the rear bulkhead it's only taken many months but this one bit is nearly completed

If you are struggling with motivation then I guess I'll chip in.
You have done a better job so far than 99%of the population could hope to achieve, stand back look at what you have done and visualise what it will be when it is finished.
Everything you have done so far is a credit and an achievement of which you have every right to be proud of!

I still think that a national paper would love the example you have set, Kim. There aren't many people, let alone young ladies, that could or would have done this project to a similar standard. You're a great example and I can't wait to send you my Landy when you're done!

Engine is now very close to being complete
Removed the rocker cover finally to reveal the broke injector loom
Fitted the new one which was as simple as unclipping and pushing the connectors back on, I did use red rubber grease on the o rings which I think fail normally. Hopefully that'll elongate the life of it.
Cover back on filled with oil finally and gave a bit of rub down to clean it
Just a couple things left to do. Fit the new fan, fit the pipes when I get them and spray the pulleys for ascetics.
Oh i was going to change the turbo actuator because it looks tatty but now I'm not sure as the cheapest I saw was £115 I think when it hasn't actually got anything wrong with it. So I've decided I'll run it down and paint it so it looks nice, do you guys think I need heat paint for it or normal paint ? Bearing in mind it goes on those little tabs of the inlet side of the turbo ?
