Its difficult to explain but the whole motor and bracket pivots up and down via to bolts.one on top of the tang and one underneath. That's how it was from factory .But I doing something bit better based on original . But I will show you tomorrow .^^^^^^^^^ WHS ^^^^^^^^^^ I am waiting to see what the newly added tang does.
The welds are not finished yet. And got to drill and tap the bracket .also a couple of adjustment pads that will swivel slightly as it moves through it's arcEvening guys.
Been making the adjustment bracket today. Tacked up and temporary mounted to see what's what. When finished the motor will be able to move up and down via a top and bottom threaded bar that will have large thumb wheels. The bolt in the picture was just to hold it.View attachment 134562 View attachment 134563 View attachment 134564
I think is was just over £100 . I got the receipt some where. They ain't a bad set to be honest. I got METRIC. SAE. UNF. UNC. and some others. I brought the lot ages ago. But as with threading you always need one ya not got. That’s a big set there mate.
Was it expensive.
£100 for all that. Christ my taps range from £5-40 a piece. Are they hss? Some of my older ones from presto are carbon steel and very good but I wouldn’t buy steel ones nowadays.I think is was just over £100 . I got the receipt some where. Got one pad done. That's about all I can do with basic hand tools .when the lathe is done I will clean them up.
It was a little ml1. Still got it but the motor gave out and have not got round to sorting it.What happened to the ML10? I did wonder why you did not machine the back of the pads.
Now if I had a nice treadel lathe???
I am in the middle of bolting down the little myford ml1 to my bench. Found a good motor amoung all my stuff. Got a pulley sorted. Just got to do some odds and ends and should be good to go.I bought a treadle lathe a few years ago. Decided to try it out first on something soft (brass) and the decision to fit a motor was made almost instantly!
