I could restore that
Build it round the log book you mean?
I could restore that
My Corsair was a 2000E (Lime green with a black vinyl roof) that I had around 1979 ish. Until recently I still had the gearbox from it. I donated it to a mate restoring a Lotus Elan Sprint. The Corsair had a larger boot than the Cortina, my mate loved his as he was a plasterer and his mixing bath fitted in the boot. I think it was the 2000/2000E had the sought after gearbox.
1972 850?
And you're surprised?Getting a bit off the Mini thread here!
Also, the mini was a clubby, unusual, with rubber rear windows...1972 850?
Corsair, yes, and a Rover 3.5 too? Or maybe a singer vogue/sunbeam rapier. Damn, guessing now..
Also, the mini was a clubby, unusual, with rubber rear windows...
To be fair, this rebuild has been an inspiration and example of how to do it.
Not glass? Also, the mini was a clubby, unusual, with rubber rear windows...
Looks really good, you've gone a lit faster with yours than we have restoring ours.Thank you everyone for your kind comments
The next job will be filling, sanding and priming the doors, bonnet and boot before turning my attention back to the shell
It does take years I know, where abouts do you do it. We've been doing ours for about 2 years alreadyI do do this as a job. At roughly 35 hours a week a full resto takes 3 to 4 months so quite quick. If it was a weekend at home job it would take years.
Of course, to be honest I though it was your own business with the quality and pace your going atI'd rather not say where I work on a public forum especially as I don't want to advertise for my employer
Had my Mk1 bonnet safety catch break off at the spot welds. Not wanting to weld it back on and have to have the bonnet repainted I bonded it on with sikaflex, glad to say it's rock solid!Started to prep the bonnet but noticed this monstrosity for the bonnet safety catch so that got fixed.View attachment 315324View attachment 315325View attachment 315326
It's a pubic hair.I've taxed worse!
(Not my line by the way, but a good one!)
Is that a 2000E in the background?
