The Corsair had a larger boot than the Cortina, my mate loved his as he was a plasterer and his mixing bath fitted in the boot. I think it was the 2000/2000E had the sought after gearbox.

My Corsair was a 2000E (Lime green with a black vinyl roof) that I had around 1979 ish. Until recently I still had the gearbox from it. I donated it to a mate restoring a Lotus Elan Sprint.

Yes, the beige one is a Clubman. Does that make it more rare?

It's SWMBO's old one she had as a kid.

Spent 4 days filling and sanding, the rear 1/4's are original but had multiple dents and creases over the years so took a whilst to get where I wanted them to be. Wheeled it outside to blow off the dust and then into the booth for 3 coats of epoxy primer.

Looks really good, you've gone a lit faster with yours than we have restoring ours.

What colour are you going?

Do you do this as a job ?

I do do this as a job. At roughly 35 hours a week a full resto takes 3 to 4 months so quite quick. If it was a weekend at home job it would take years.

It does take years I know, where abouts do you do it. We've been doing ours for about 2 years already

Had my Mk1 bonnet safety catch break off at the spot welds. Not wanting to weld it back on and have to have the bonnet repainted I bonded it on with sikaflex, glad to say it's rock solid!
