Set about with the final polishing today, it's hard to get a decent pic of a finished panel though

Sadly it doesn't always go right and I wasn't happy with the flatness of the passenger rear 1/4 panel so broke out the 500 grit and long block. I'll paint it again on Monday.

As I say, if money were no object I'd love to have SWMBO restored.

Yes, the car is being put back exactly as it left the factory albeit with the webasto roof.

Love a grey mini with an old English white roof my mk1 is Surf Blue and white but if I was building a mini and wasn't too precious about its original colour I'd definitely go for grey.

Mrs A’s one was Surf blue, with all blue leather and dash, non-sport pack as we preferred the narrower look

Mrs A has not forgiven me for selling hers, but rot was appearing everywhere - this was our second new Rover mini - they replaced the first one under warranty as the paint fell off in sheets. They offered a respray which I declined, as it was coming off underneath as well as where you could see!
