I guess they have door trims and air bags , Ive never even sat in a new Mini , I like the term Bini though , thats good .
Come to think of it ,,, they cant actually be that new any more either ,,, must google when they came out .

We first saw prototype at the mini 35 birthday party at Silverstone 1994, but it wasn't launched until 2001 a couple of year late.

I remember once seeing a German version , or German built one , it had a slightly different fron , and it was huge , reall rough and tough looking. ... Mind you I remember when Rav 4s were little toty 4x4s , and they are huge now too ...
Unlike Snickers ,, they used to be huge , not so much now.

Yeah I remember that one as well, it was a concept car don't think it went down that well. Think they where still trying to act like they where saving the British car company rather than pillaging the live daylights out of it.

Wifey had a 2003 Mini Cooper S Works (Bini) and in comparison to the 2010 Cooper SD Countryman she owned it was a real mini and a total weapon. 208bhp, supercharged, fettled by John Cooper Garages with a stainless exhaust, sports suspension, modified ECU and charger pulley, it was twice the S Works (turbo) that BMW produced after 2004 when they purchased the rights from JC! The countryman SD was pants and skittish in the road where the earlier S Works had sorted perfect road manners.

Nope, a G15

Just restored a G4, old round tube chassis, quite rare, along with a G4s much clunky-er with a crude square tube chassis. Values wildly different..

Triple 'C' eh! Mr Walker with his Emerald Cams and a workshop under the railway arches in Brixton, then his Engine Management System (I know someone on here has one, brave fellow). Articles by Dave Vizard the Wizard (have a couple of his books somewhere, just saw one the other day) and my journey into the (very expensive and heart breaking) world of Group 4 rallying. Sold my last MkII for £1750 over 25 years ago. I would rather the memories than the car.
How I wasn't killed I will never know. Along with Paul Nutter (look him up: Harewood Hill Climb) my idea of a flame proof suit was a boiler suit dipped in a bucket of water.
Learned a lot about dynamics and speed though. Not all of it the easy way.

Dave Walker is still making the Emerald ECU, I looked them up recently to see the prices.

no but I remeber a guy malcom wilson (?) who rallied at that time ,ended up years later running the ford team I think, anyways better stop as will be on naughty step for off topic , sorry again mods...

I had contacts in Lotus and when they cleared the shed of bits for the original Elite, I grabbed three seats(£5 each..). Had two in my Mini, set well back with the steering column dropped. Far more comfortable than the dreadful perches Issigonis put in to 'keep you awake' as he put it.

I would pay reasonable money for another Opel Kadett Coupe, my first motor.

found one a few years back but they won’t part with it! Donated by the family of deceased owner, along with a Monza GSE/GTE and Carlton Estate.

Time passes quick..
Someone in quality control at leyland collected the sample pistons for the new mini and delivered
a couple of boxes of what I am told are Cat pistons, in boxes labeled correctly for the bmw, to inspection
and enginnering.
The germans didn't laugh.

I’ve always wanted a Kadette Coupe, I had my eye on a nice metallic brown 1.2SR round the corner from me and it disappeared one day. I found out a few years later they scrapped it.

my dad had an opel kadette, if he sees a war film he always say "no opels"!
He had a 1938 kadette.

I’ve had a Coupe and a Saloon. Lovely little motors.
There was one locally with the Monza 3.0 in it. Was very quick but didn’t want to go around corners!

Been to view the Mini tonight. Nothing excessive, usual mini fare. Previous welding looks ok, small bit of rot at the boot floor to boot surround 20/30mm, hole at the top of the driver side a pillar and a piece of gutter needed, a panel on driver side. Looks like it could be saved with a little work. Nothing too bad. Big oil leak at the bottom of the timing cover. Prolly pull the engine to sort it.
Price agreed and a hand shake. I collect it in fortnight nearer 3 weeks As I go back to work next week.
