hi, yes i'm using a sip migmate 100 bought from halfords in 1995 after a review in practical classics and i'm using argoshield light after seeing the volkzone offer on here after using disposables for years. this site also helped make the welder usable (steel liner and feed brace) only problem is 35 amp minimum can make it tricky sometimes

managed to make a start lining up the A panel today. this and the outer sill are the only bought in panels i've used! and trial fitted the door

yep!, fully intended on making one using a pattern repair panel for the area in front of the door hinge, even went as far as buying one (40 quid!) then this genuine ford part turns up on ebay for £65 buy it now!!!! another one is on there at the moment (item no 251048374856) for £325!!!!!!! right place right time

today i made a new edge for the bulkhead to be butt welded in then plug welded to the A post, then laid over the bulkhead and scribed around and cut out the overlap to allow butt welding more tacks then allow to cool seam built up then refit A post to check fit

nothing much done in the last few days due to weather, but managed to put the top edge onto the bulkhead which i'll maybe finish tomorrow

hi, this weekend i trial fitted the door and wing to check the fit. seems ok then spent some time tweaking the panel and clamped up to ensure everything will fit up tight for welding. this post sponsored by VISEGRIP locking pliers!

well yesterday i got the panel welded in so today i ground the welds back and got the bare metal areas painted to keep them rust free before applying seam sealer

hi, today i managed to get the battery tray lined up, cleco'd in then plug welded, followed by grinding the welds and painted enjoy the pics

I have to say its good watching someone save an old motor
Most folks would have scrapped that long ago
I did the same on an escort years ago, total challenge considering what an absolute teabag it was
For a postie those are some impressive panel skills, time and tools and you can do anything

Keep up the good work

I'm also on BSC, always wanted another MK3 before they updated it, preferably an E or GXL

Just wish I had a double garage attached to the house, then SWMBO would never see me
