I got some black veltrim here but ts not very stretchy and is harder work except on straight panels. This 4 way is much nicer.

Nice job @Lewis_RX8 . The one tip I found is get a hot soldering iron for the holes and use different clips for the panels so they can stay hidden. I’ll update that with pics once I’ve done them.

On ebay you can get the standard looking clips (+5mm) which is brilliant for when putting carpeted ply back on. Especially on the lowers as handy if wanting to wire towbar in after or so.
Came as the caddy as some stuff needs power from ns 1/4 interior light (ie reversing camera or bypass relay)

Only thing I found with the carpetiyon ours is that a lot of the YouTube tutorials are very keen in getting the job done in just one piece. I tried that and wasn't happy as it was too thin on the stretched areas and too thick in the condensed areas. Redid it in a few carefully planned sections, using metal seams as start/stop points. I felt, with my novice skills, it was a better job hiding a seam than trying to overstretch or massively compress an area.

Ahhh thats a good idea with the soldering iron , I was messing about with carpet pulling itself into the drill bit and nearly ripped holes in the carpet

Thought this aswell quite a force when your trying to pull it round a wheel arch for example can get good tension on it and take out any wrinkles

With the hidden clips ( https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/100pcs-S...=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 ) you can carpet the panels then twist in the hidden clip from behind and with the roof panel you can push 8mm fir tree pins through the board before carpeting and they offer more support than standard panel pins.

Got the side panels done with a little addition in the side door. Next job extra electrics in the roof void for a future rear view camera and led roof lighting then cut out and insulate and carpet the roof panel and additional roof board to hide the LED halo I have planned.

None some far, but I’m not camping in it.

Todays work was to cut out a new headliner from 3mm ply using the original as a template but making it 10mm longer to cover the holes left by removing the bulkhead then framed it in 4 way stretch carpet . I then mitred some 19x40mm pencil round timber as a plinth to stick my 5m remote colour changing LED ribbon, then I cut the original headliner to leave a 40mm gap all round to give a halo effect then carpeted it before mounting some 12v LED spots. Still have to wire it in but I frigged it for pics.

I like the amount of work and detail you have put into this but don't really get the "van" thing. What do you use it for? If carrying passengers do they not miss having windows? and its obviously too nice now for carting dirty tools and parts about in?

I love the RGB LED on a roll we have used them in so many.projects but recently started using RGB+W with a 2.4 ghz remote so you don't heed to point it and the W is a pure white LED separate to the tri coloured ones, i will try and find the pictures but i am loving the detail you are putting into this

@Bobupndown the van was purely because I like to be different and once it’s lowered and bits are colour coded etc it’ll be different enough.

Took a pic of the roof panel in the daylight.

Purchased a late caddy rear bumper and also bought a rear bumper from eBay so I could cut n shut the diffuser.
So today I made a start. Diffuser was 220mm too wide and would foul the reflectors so I cut and sectioned it. First time using the plastic welder and I’m impressed. I bought the whole bumper not just he diffuser as I wanted it removable for paint not just glasses in.
Not sure if it should have been fitted higher up? I’ll persevere and see how it pans out.

My front bumper is currently being painted so looking forward to getting that back and fitted.

It will control the 24v ones we use for long runs but they sell the same one for 12v, if you have ribbons listed as RGB red green blue it will control them fine, if you have the RGBW or RGBWW it will also power the white or warm white channel, so as long as you get the right voltage ribbon and controller it will be fine.
