I thought by reversing the live and nutrual at the plug would change the direction
I've tried so many ways I've lost track maybe I need to start again,I looked at that link and it says about a capacitor motor, I not sure if my one is the same it's just power striaght into a winding, thanks for advice I will be like a dog with two danglers if I can get it spinning in the correct rotation
You'd need to reverse both windings I reckon.Brain going soft in old age, but don't you have to swap the coils mag field round, so changing the field winding end to end will do it e.g. brush connection to feed wire, feed wire to brush.
Cant remember if both windings have to be reversed or only the one
Reversing the mains in will do nothing
Do you think that if a bridge rectifierD.C. is a different kettle of fish. If you had a D.C. source then you could drive it from that and reverse it at will.
It might get a little stressed.Do you think that if a bridge rectifier
was placed across the 230v AC supply and the DC output was connected to this Universal motor, the motor could then be reversed at will by swapping the + and - of the DC supply?Diode Bridge Rectifier KBPC Metal Case Single Phase 10/15/20/25/30/50A 1000V | eBay
