You could certainly improve its looks.I’d have a grinder on that in seconds and chop it as a hot rod
They probably sold like wet hotdogs.Triumph Mayflower
At the moment i am trying to get the number plate off it as it was registered as an A reg in 1981, then get an age related number put back on, they are a bit of a strange looking motor,it is up for sale but they sell slowly.I always thought the proportions were weird, especially when compared to the very elegant Renown.
What are your plans for it?

Curiously styled, like the driver was taking the pee out of the Boss's Bentley.
I think aimed at the same people who had Vanden plas allegros, posh on a budget, sadly the Mayflower did not sell on great numbers and even a well restored does not fetch much compared to a mini or moggy. My brother had one when he was a student in the sixties, musta been cheap. I thought the same, who was it aimed at?
The 964 was greatMy own oldie when it was working, it’s been in the garage for the past 7 years with a knackered engine, this winter it’s getting pulled round to the new garage where it’s getting a full engine rebuild, at last!

When I was a kid, a bloke down the road had a Mayflower. Had a side valve motor that looked ridiculously small under that tall radiator/bonnet area.I think aimed at the same people who had Vanden plas allegros, posh on a budget, sadly the Mayflower did not sell on great numbers and even a well restored does not fetch much compared to a mini or moggy.
Seem to recall that it was a Standard 10 motor and most of the running gear. When I was a kid, a bloke down the road had a Mayflower. Had a side valve motor that looked ridiculously small under that tall radiator/bonnet area.
I think that is correct it is the same engine with a bit more power and an alloy head, a friend used the Mayflower engine in his dads standard 10 to get more power.Seem to recall that it was a Standard 10 motor and most of the running gear.
