Quick heads up which may save someone a bit more money. Create an account and sign up for the newsletter first. They sent me a newsletter confirmation and voucher code for 7% but I hadn't realised before placing my order. Had another try as a test and the voucher code brought the total down to under £465.

Reedx, did your welder turn up?
I seem to be having a bit of trouble as mine was meant to arrive with UPS on 22/5 but the tracking says UPS haven't even collected it yet and I cannot get a response from Weldes.de to see whats happening.
Pleased I payed with a credit card.

Had an email from them today, they have ran out of foot pedals for them so they sure refunding me the pedal and sending the welder.
Anyone want to sell me a pedal?

Can measure the pots in mine if you want to knock one up or find an alternative? I had the back off when I was trying to figure out why it wasnt working, hehaw to them. Can get a linear pot for about £3.

Torch OK, but you'd need to use the foot switch as no switch on the torch.
Adaptor no. The Sherman gas connector is 10mm.

make sure you spec a "switched and and sheathed" torch option.

That adapter will work if you cut the gas pipe and put a 10mm threaded female hose barb

Yes, 3/8 is the normal, then 1/4 but the Sherman is 10mm. You could do like I did and take the one off the torch that comes with the Sherman.

I think that’s what I will do, I just find the Sherman torch to bulky! I think I will bastardise the Sherman parts as the sheathed switched torches are super expensive. I’ll take the sheath and 10mm from the Sherman, not to worried about the button as I have been using the foot pedal and like it. Can always buy one of the clip on butttons later if need be!

So 1st time Tig welder here, Bought my self a Stahlwerk and had nothing but issue's. Put a wanted add in regarding a cheaper tig and was directed to this post, I had initially been put off after buying the Stahlwerk but reading this has given me a new hope. Ordered it today from greyeagleshop which seems to be based near me in Rotherham. So i'll update once it arrives and i've ruined some ally.

You should be able to use any pot, they tend to use them as voltage dividers so any resistance will de fine. It's definitely the case on the jasic anyway

Well the only thing I don't like about the Sherman is the torch but that has already been swapped out so I reckon you will be happy with the performance.
