I just receive information from Tecweld, that's all Sherman Digitig 206P AC/DC listings with delivery to UK on ebay and amazon must be ended.

Is that specific to ebay and amazon? or can you still sell to the uk through your online shop?

With the Jasic you are paying for a 5 year warranty and a dealer and service centre backup.
I have personally had dealings with Wilkinson Star (Jasic UK) regarding my plasma and the service/help was excellent, even phoning in the evenings and weekends.
Is it worth the extra? For some yes, for others no. For me for the Tig then not really as I don't use the Tig every day and I have another anyway, for the Plasma then definitely.

I don't see that Jasic's pricing (especially considering the warranty and level of support available in the UK) is any more 'marked-up' than any others in their market sector; Parweld, R-Tech, etc.,..?

Having followed this post for a few months now I bought one of the Sherman TIG 206P's and I've had it for a few weeks now; I'm mightily impressed with it for the price - and (in my amateur opinion) knocks the socks of the R-Tech I had, and that was three times the price! However, it is not as refined as my Lorch MicorTIG (DC only) - I bought the Sherman for a few projects that'll need AC.

Entirely appreciate that, as I'd noted way back when in the thread. I've no experience with them, but everyone is very positive about their service (and Wilkinson Star clearly have a big UK investment in support facilities/personnel).

It always puzzled me that the engineer was so stand-offish to bbe555 and claimed they were completely different inside - rather than just tell it as it is - you're paying more because you get more.

This latest (alleged - as in fairness, there's not a Jasic rep here demanding the end of Sherman sales!) move adds to a feeling of it seeming pretty fishy (to me) if they're trying to supress sales of a product aimed elsewhere with - lets face it - a very different warranty package. I just can't understand the perceived threat.

@Tangledfeet - fair point well put. It does seem a product-type markup, certainly not unique to Jasic. I retract my comments

Retail price maintenance has been illegal in the uk for over 50 years. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resale_Prices_Acts Replaced in 1998 by the eu laws for competition which still bind us for now, since the first part of Brexit was to move all eu laws into uk statute ( until we start to change or break them )

He takes apart Jasic welding machines, reverse engineers them - and has them made on the cheap elsewhere!

It's probably identical, and on the same production line, the difference is Jasic UK have higher costs,and charge more, if you look around you will find genuine Jasic units a lot cheaper in Europe, by your logic they must be built cheaper too?

Jasic is also just an importer of chinese product..
