Make it happen ...I do want it, but I really have no use for it. Unless I buy a huge milling machine to match.

Nothing justifies a new bit of equipment more than you've already bought a related item and now need to complete the set
Gosh, I just can't think of who you mean...There are certain forum members who are going for a full set of record vices.
I've always said you should try everything at least once, save bestiality and accounting.There are certain forum members who are going for a full set of record vices.
Murder and molestation is fine then.I've always said you should try everything at least once, save bestiality and accounting.

Mind you I'm not much better. I'm looking for a set of outside jaws for my ML7 to complete the set of equipment and tooling it was supplied with.
Strong...thats like saying this is "mildly alcoholic" lol
my #6 cost me < £80 inc courier charge and it opens close to that...that also looks a lot more recent than my 6...
Didn't record do a 10"?

I can't be bothered to look back through 36 pages to find out the name but the people who made that rear sliding vice are still going, mostly making machine vices but they did have two or three bench vices in their catalogue.
Damn it, I want to check mine now but I put it right at the back of the storage shed at the weekend followed by a whole rake of other heavy things
I wasn't going to start on this one just yet, but it's already disassembled and some parts are in the vat. That cam locking mechanism is impressive. The insert screws look like they're going to be fun to remove.
Checked on the front jaw when fully closed, btw, and it's level with the front of the support shelf when closed. Can't tell until the base is derusted and the paint is off as to whether that bottom section is machined or rough, below the ball, but I'm guessing rough.
My cousin sent me these pictures of a vice where he works;

Do you know what it is?
Dear god the madness has spread.
The horror!
