I'd get it if it's West German or Swiss. A lot of East German and Polish ones lurk about though. Can't read the brand on my phone

I don't know the brand but I had a quick Google and it confirms my suspicion. Not a "vintage" item as such so probably not an exotic casting but proper "old school" quality. At that price, you don't need to think twice.

Parts are blacked and mostly done now. Still need to get the snapped screw stubs out yet though.
Using the black wax recently rather than paint for several reasons:
1) I like it.
2) It's a lot less faff than painting, and time seems to be one thing I don't have enough of.
3) It's effective & easily touched up if needs be.

Of course it wouldn't need touching up though would it, none of your rescued vices go to work do they?
Lovely job though. I recommend trying to drill out the stubs and re-tap the holes. I recently snapped an easy out in one. Words that cannot be repeated were spoken!

Git. What can I say; I'm a sad sod. If the No7 wasn't so damn good in covering pretty much all of my needs, the others might get dragged out more frequently. I can fair guess how blue the air was.
Planning on doing sometheing along those lines. Might try a couple of new extractors first, but they're more just a reverse tip drill bit than an extractor as such. Not sure if they'll be too big though.

One of the good things about the record 34 is that it's unbreakable so you can 'rage hit' it and it's fine! I was hella annoyed that day!

How can you only need 1 vice?
As I lean on one vice, bench mounted I can see my Record and my pipe vice.
I know with in 20 feet I have four others.
Plus access to more.
You need help if you think one vice is enough.

I'm feeling a bit 'underprivileged' here 'cos I only have the one vice, well......plus a workmate type thing but those don't count.

At my dizzy height of collecting I had about ten, though I've whittled the team down to three good ones and one sick one which needs a part I'm sure I'll never find - it's an old Woden instantaneous grip one and the little three inch teeth block bit is missing. It's 95% complete though, and I couldn't see it get scrapped given how nice the castings are
