Those ones are pathetic, putting an anvil on them when they can't take it! I have split an anvil vice using a hammer on a smaller one than this. It was like aero chocolate inside.

I have a facom 125 that has an anvil that someone beat the crap out of I wondered why it was misshapen. , When I looked into it I found out it was made from steel with welded construction, good job it was free !!!! , no quick release but plenty strong with a swivel base, meets all my metal work needs

Yep I agree , have got a 1914 Entwistle steelrack woodwork vice original paint etc , 9 inch jaws 12 ins opening,

Charity shop, again like a past post, it was going to be junked.
They asked for £10, I gave more as they do good work.
Plus I have bean in the air ambulance, but £15 is all I had.

Finally sorted that chain and hooks for the taper pin on the Parkinson. A split pin for the pin, and a S hook for the rear jaw, both made of copper wire.

Looks good, what melds have you used to clean it up? I've got an old record with original paint that I want to clean up a bit without being too hard on the paintwork

I have a Woden in that pattern minus that camlock tooth bit, I need to find one. I have never seen another Woden one but its in the catalogue. The later style of Woden we are much more common

Shouldn't be too difficult to make one, it isn't hardened, it may be possible to remove the rack from the fixed part as a pattern it is a fairly simple shape, rough it out with a grinder finish with file and hacksaw etc,let me know if you want more pics
