The bike is a runner as it 'appens and it was for sale. I didn't buy it coz I can't grow a decent handlebar moustache or play the piano, I could have repainted it Army Khaki I 'spose.

I'm always a bit wary on the owd bikes leaking oil legends, some of em had total loss oil systems, and some had a drip feed to the drive chain so it was inevitable that some oil would drop when parked up.
When I were a lad, we had no fancy chain lube sprays in a can, you brushed on old engine oil, or every so often, put the chain in a pot of lynklife. Even today, I have had mates staying over, and some of their chain drive bikes have dropped a spot on the floor when hot.

I have no knowledge of that Norton though.

This was the Fazer 1000 I had when I was living in Spain......it had the carbs 'tricked' and was very, very fast...frightened me to death.
I managed to drop it on my leg whilst attempting a slow u-turn on a heavily cambered hill...ouch I said

If I ever get another bike to ride I'll make sure my feet can touch the ground!!

Nice bike the RC8, I had a loan R for a few weeks and fell in love with it, elbow down in the grass verges one handed two up was a blast, my missis was on the back at the time, amazing bike, me and my girl share the love of the bikes and she said it was the best bike to be pillion on ever, given I've worked on superbikes for the last 25 years we have rode a few Anyway reason I had the loan bike is I had one in the 2009 BSB Supercup, here we are on the front row #33. We came 4th at the end of the year.

@Richard. And yeah, most comfy superbike I have rode for sure, deceptively fast on the road, underpowered on track against modern 1000cc superbikes. Mind you, the full superbike kit for the RC8 takes it up around 200bhp, 1098R power.

I think I'm a Suzuki addict , got a Grand Vitara, LT250 quad, DL650 bike and just taken delivery of a 1979 TS185 imported from the states....

I assume from the plate it was last used in 1986, only has just under 3400 miles on it...

My first bike was a 79 TS125. Great bike, keep looking on E bay for one. Nearly all the farmers round our way had them so when Honda launched the first 3 wheeler machines they all moved on to them and so there was loads of abused TS125s for sale. Saved my paper round money and got my first bike and had bikes ever since. My dad hated bikes and I learned I needed to work to pay for it and how to fix it.

Has importing old bikes into europe by the boat load died off ? Years ago there used to be people importing containers of old bikes, and advertising them in the free ad's paper over here. Some right bargains to be had if you were into old jap 4's of the 70's and 80's.
