Whats the best way to secure the tank?

Can't you just tack some brackets to it and bolt it down when it's in.

I have my PC sitting on a sheet of Alu that has this kind of stuff stuck to it. PC is watercooled and deadly silent but the pumps caused vibrations through the table, with this it is now totally silent.

Should work ok as long as you have near the edge, too far inboard and possibly the weight of the water would buckle the tank.

Think the tank only holds a little over 2L so not a great deal of weight.

It does look bigger to me too.

I bought the brackets i linked to earlier. Plus a couple more pans (spares or for the mk2).

How about having the 3 fans pulling air in through the rad then onto the motor? Then another fan on the other side of the case pushing out?

It's always best with that 1/4 hp motor to have a powerful fan actually dedicated to cooling it from its **** end if your going to box it in. Keep the pump head on the outside and plent of vents for the cool air to be drawn in and push hot air out.

In this case I mounted the tank above the fans and the vents but off the motor. This is Critical. You don't want to restrict any air flow. The exchanger has another 2 fans drawing in and blowing through again 1 across the motor and out.
The other blowing directly on the tank keeping warm air off that too

True, I've put one on the little mill motor as the original only operated at motor speed and it used to get a little hot when running at slow speeds.

If you have recycling centres / friends with old computers etc they are a great source for power supplies and cooling fans

Just bought a second hand Bosch GSC 2,8 Professional shears. Should come in handy if I do box this off but I still need a way of bending the sheet.

After 12 days with the in-laws think i deserve some garage time.

Going to struggle getting some aluminium on the back of this one, how about some thin strips with a hole bolted through the fitting?

I know its badly drilled.
