You can fold sheet between two heavy bits of angle in a vice, you can buy cheap folders, bit flimsy but work, or you can buy a box and pan folder, or make any of the above.

Or cut the sides and stitch up with your mig.

I cut with a slitting disc 1 mm if i want neat. Or a plasma with a guide.

I've done my new tool quota for this year already think i will try and make something myself or use the vice.

To a point but it comes with its own challenges.
Depending on grade and amount of work your doing with it you may need to anneal it or it may crack/tear on the bend. Also with Alu you bend against the surface grain. There are lots of depends with it. Yes it can be easyier to work with but again it depends.

Yes, however it is fairly easily got even in Barcelona, it is called water

I read you should neutralise it before tipping down the drain. But i'm only using a little.

I think you would have to be using it on a big scale before you worried about it, even when using a neutralising paste you would still then have to dispose of the cleaning water properly if using large scale.

Before buying and messing up good metal i wanted to make a mockup of the front panel and try out my electric shears.

As i suspected cutting the slot for the LED is not easy, tried a 1mm cutting disc first but made a mess then i put a hole in it with the hole saw and got most of it out with the shears and finished up with the file but due to uneven filling it looks a mess.

I was going to get the dremel out but i need some more cutting discs.
What thickness sheet should i use?

And need to decide on what pipe to use from the pump stainless would be nice but i doubt i would bend it with the pipe bender i have.

Not a sheet metal guy so can't really say Cases on machines etc are probably in the 1-2mm region.
As for pipe then probably copper if you are wanting it to be metal.

I will get on with case for now and come back to that. Any ideas on the sheet thickness?

1mm 1.5mm.
Doesn't really matter so long as you can work with it.

nicely with a tight radius? I think you will struggle.
