I hope to make mine a positive pressure booth (clean air being blown in)
So I’ll have two fans plus ducting for the space heater and maybe a fan for the outlet

Same with the three phase. There is an incoming supply in the unit i'm looking at but no sockets or other outlets. When asked they said oh, you can put anything in you want. Fine. He then said if you leave it in we wont charge you to remove it.

You won't be able to control the paint fumes though, it's those you have to filter to remove particles &c.

Yes, but the exiting air will contain paint particles & fumes, which should be filtered (by law) before entering the atmosphere. You need to suck the air out through a filter, the room should be airtight and a filtered vent provided for the inlet. Don't forget the exhaust fan will have to cope with the air coming out of the spraygun.

How long are you thinking of keeping the perspex clear?
You don't need a hood. It's easier to have the extraction vertical instead of horizontal. That makes mounting the fan/ changing filters much easier, although it will use a little more floorspace. You may also end up with a centrifugal fan rather than axial. Also, 8" ducting would be too small, in my book.
Don't filter the air coming in unless you have a high dustload in the main workshop, as it puts additional pressure on the system, restricting flow rates; also, you'd be better allowing air in at all levels. I would go for that heavy flexible plastic strip stuff over the front of the booth. Or nothing at all, if your extraction is good enough.
That link I put up earlier gives suggested flow rates for booths. Worth a look, and rate your fan to suit. As an ex-fan engineer (sorry), I can assure you it's something you should get right, and it's easy to get it wrong.

Yes, a centrifugal is a bit like a car water pump. as you say, blades at 90 degrees . Glad to see you've given Mrs WP a job (I bet she's a better sprayer than you), and Deeley too! (also a better sprayer....).

I'll have to dig out me old manuals. Actually the way to do it is to work out your airflow, then phone a manufacturer - there's loads. Halifax fans - there's a name for you. Give them a CFM and tell them what it's for, and they'll tell you what you need.
Once you have the size, a bit of digging will get you something approaching what you need.
This lot deal in used fans, but they come up on ebay and various places - workshops, woodwork shops, allsorts - you know...
