Thank you, fortunately the windows have a trim that cover the wood but I did make it as neat as I could.

Rather than using CAD I had to use WPAD wrapping paper aided design.

Finished off the repair today so just sanding and staining to go.

No, I can't afford to keep it long term. The ownership costs alone would take me 5 months to earn.

Today was a good day though as she passed the Boat Safety certificate.

Not to be nosy but what are the average annual costs of owning and berthing a boat like that? Not that I am interested in getting a boat just curious about it.

You will not get much change from 3k a year on the Medway.
Take a look at the various local marinas for more accurate pricing, clubs are much cheaper.
Port Medway
Chatham maritime
Allington Marina.

If just pottering then the fuel costs will be peanuts, inboard petrol boats are unbelievably expensive to run.
They do need constant tlc, some years more than others.

Whats the boats value? I ask as our ins premium has always been roughly 1 percent of the boats value.

On the medway below Allington no river licence is needed, just a 60 quid tax disc from Peel Ports.

She is insured for £75k at the moment and is not allowed on tidal waters or it would cost more.

I chose that as I have no real interest I taking her below Teddington lock

Still working away, the internal woodwork is now repaired and stained. All the curtains are made and fitted




I've now turned my attention to the exterior paintwork and sanded most of the superstructure ready for painting. Hopefully I can get that done over the next few weeks then let it harden before sanding with 1500grit and a machine polish.

My Initial plan was to just paint the deck with non slip paint but I'm now getting some quoted for synthetic teak to be fitted.

The first quote has come in at £15k but hopefully I can get it much cheaper than that. If not then ill go back to plan A

Thanks, my wife made all the curtains and cushions. We bought 47meters of material and there are 25 curtains in total on the boat.

As soon as the superstructure is painted I will be fitting solar power on to the boat.

I've ordered a 30amp MPPT dual battery charger. Battery 1 will be the leasure batteries for the 12v and battery 2 is supplied a 0.5amp trickle charge and I will initially wire it to the port engines starter battery. Eventually this will also be split to charge both the starter engines.

I will be ordering a 175 watt solar panel as well but the charger can handle 2 of those so another one could be added in the future.

I have a 2000w inverter that I'm going to refit, it was originally wired directly into the same feed as the shore power which wasn't great so to keep everything isolated I'll order a 3 way switch and will manually switch from shore to inverter power.

Last nighti mounted the solar controller and the display for it. Today I'll have the floors up and start on adding another 110ah leisure battery and the wiring to charge them.
