Marking things before removing the is engineering basics 101. Easy enough on the props to mark or at least label

They were marked but during their refurb the marks were polished out and were not remarked by the reconditioner

Yes, was quite a discussion when the props got refitted to make sure they were on the right sides as I didn't have clear pictures and neither did the guy I paid to remove and refit them.

I wired up the solar last week and its working great, the 170w panel is producing about 450w hours a day at the moment so is charging the leisure batteries perfectly. I've got the 240v charger switched off now on the moorings.

We had a nice 10 days on the boat and took her up to abingdon. Water appears to have stopped coming in when she is running so I'm pretty happy with that.

One of the velvet drives was a bit low on oil so I topped that up.

When we got back into the marina I stripped off the windscreen and the stainless arch and finished the sanding of the main structure. Some of this has now had its first coat of paint. It will all have at least 3 coats before a flat and polish.

Sadly it looks like we have run out of decent weather to get the painting finished this year unless we get a freak heatwave so attention is turning back to the interior.

I've spent some time this weekend fitting the 2000w inverter I found on the boat last year.

This goes through a rotary switch so I can switch between shore power and inverter power. When cruising we can keep the fridge on 240v.

Amazon had the solar panel I fitted earlier in the year on offer so I bought another one. It now has a total of 340w of solar and I would say its pretty much able to be off grid running rhe fridge on 240v.

The system produced 520wh in 3 hours today so on a bright sunny day it should produce well over a kW.

We are resigned to the fact we are likely to need another year to get her fully up to scratch

Therefore the quickers its gone the better. Is hanging on not potentially false economy.

not a cheap mooring ,,, cant you throw your own mooring down instead. Then again its probably all down to location , location location.

So I'm still plugging away with the old girl. Whilst waiting for better weather I've finished painting the aft cabin ceiling.



Total cost of materials is about £350 and roughly 15 hours of my time.

im really happy to have it finished as my arms and shoulders are killing me

I also investigated by the hour counters were not working.



That orange ccognow has the consistency of cheese. I can get new ones so I'll order them next week and rebuild the gauge

Aft cabin completed

I refitted the edging that I'd left off and used some laminate floor edging sealant in the gap between the ceiling and edging to neaten it up. Really happy with the finished result.

Now needing the weather to get better so i can paint outside
