Are the chassis' built to specified plans or do you have some freedom with the design?

We have a rule book with some fixed tollarances but it's all about the grey areas
So yes there is freedom in construction as long as you don't build against the rulebook.

Yeah it was a good en, I got tangled with a car 1st lap and I got spun and hit fence forward then 2 car's collected me at full chat , still finished 10th though from a lap down

you can have a run of good luck and do well then u get meetings where u collect damage and wonder why u bother then u start again win a few and qualify most races and your back in business

used to hate driving on shale . a face full of crap and the stuff got everywhere on the engine the timing belt had to be well covered otherwise the cam belt would jump the pulleys and trash the engine tarmac was the best

I've never done it on shale. It was always Tarmac at Hartlepool back in the day. Bog roll trophys and 20 quid in an envelope if you took the chequered flag. Unfortunately the beggars in the red tops used to see me in the fence before I got that far. Those were the days.

That reminds me actually. Mine spent most of its life with the cam belt on backwards. I changed it one day and didn't realise at the time you could run those pinto engines with the belts down either side of the tensioner and they still timed up perfectly. Only problem was the cover would only go on with it fitted the right way. Ha ha spare bit obviously. Went on the shelf for replacement day. Should of just put it right really given I could swap it in less than 40mins.
