Got a phone call from a friend today, he lives in a bed sit flat. During the week, as he works away from his family.Not a bad place. but he only has a shower, no bath.
This morning he woke up to no power. Hence the call to me.
Getting there we found the power had triped. Traced it to the shower pull cord.
Resetting the power and leaving the shower off, meant he had power. The landlord was dully called.
Hats of to her, she was there in the hour. None of use was impressed about the on call electrician.
Oh, can't come out to Thursday, it will have to wait, not an urgent call.
It was explained to him a shower is needed as my friend works in a hospital.
Long story short. I ended up changing the pull cord.
Proved it was the switch, not the shower. Land lord was happy it was a simple change.
She will have the work inspected etc etc.
The LED is in the wrong place, as the service side cables are on that side. but there was very little slack in the cables.
It works, a shower can be had.

A quick bit of aluminium welding and a long bit of grinding away the evidence of the aluminium welding resulted in four of these (three plus one spare):

About twice a year I have to do ‘structural repairs’ to a bed for some humongous bird in the village
That’ll last long enough for me to not have to do it again I reckon

Yesterday actually,got done with getting the 4 axis lathe running. Everything now working, just want to pull the turret off, replace all the oil seals and regrease all the gears and driven tooling spindle bearings after cleaning them all in the ultrasonic cleaner.Looking forward to a lathe with live tooling and 22 tools

Rather than a hammer, I think it's a blacksmith's 'hot cut' tool, one that's had the bevel edged, sharp end ground off. Used to cut metal at forging temperatures, sometimes used with a bottom tool that's held in the Hardy hole.
The rather rustic, odd shaped handle might also suggest it wasn't originally a hammer.
You've certainly done a lovely job of restoring it.
