Yes, that’s true. If the output shaft hadn’t been off kilter I wouldn’t have bothered to re-bore the holes, although I consider the porous sintered Oilite bearings to be an improvement, as they can retain a good deal of oil and can go for longer intervals between oiling. The other shaft (input shaft) doesn't have any bushings in the casting (just the steel shaft against cast iron), but it has two lubrication ports in the casting, making it more convenient to keep lubricated than the output shaft.Lubricated cast iron and steel actually make good bearings - an enormous number of which are used in one of our current machines all over the world, at quite high speed too.
A not so 'Lazy Susan'?I don't know what it was originally used for
Air-O-Plane magneto's (one of them, not both) have an impulse coupling if no starter motor (hand propped)Retard makes sense i think to start it. slightly later spark once the piston is already on its way down, should reduce kickback
As long as it get used I'd have just as youed done regressed and oiled the metal and keped the original colourView attachment 392361
A king member allowed me this nice item. I knew it needed some attention, but not much.
It was chosen for a restoration, agaist my advice.

After weeks off being delayed, a lost part I brought the bucket home. After checking all parts were pressent.

The parts had been cleaned, badly painted with clear varnish, from a rattle can.

I knew the surface rust would soon be covered in grease. So I removed the worse.
The paint job was terrible, I may revisit in the future.

I am ashamed that a good item, for MIS was badly restored. By those who thought they knew what they were doing. I have now redrawn my support for that MIS.
The chain block will live with me and get used at my local Sheds.
I nearly had the end of my thumb off with one of those when i was a teenager..I thought that I'd better clean and service my Ketona K6, prior to selling it.

Stripped, cleaned, regreased, and sharpened, using my little Warco disc sander. It's a joy to use use now.
I think that I'll keep it a little longer
if your ever not got a spare you can take them apart as long as its not melted inside just clean all contacts up and put back together they work for a while and plenty of time to get a new oneI went to use Henry and he wasn't having any of it so I had to use the dustpan and brush
