Does the head need skimming?
Would be a good idea.Does the head need skimming?
Not sure, haven't got the gasket off yet. Hoping to get back to it on TuesdayDoes the head need skimming?
Have a workshop manual for the Scimitar and I am pretty sure there is a section on the c3 box in it. Can scan some pages if neededNot fixed, but just started the fixing process. I recently fired up the Essex motor in my hot rod, but after getting the timing set, tweaking the carb sorting a couple of water leaks, I’ve got an ATF drip from the bellshousing. Front seal on the autobox is leaking.
Engine and box are now on the floor, ready to pull apart tomorrow.
Anybody here know much about Ford C3 automatic transmissions, perchance?

Some of the early Golfs were recalled to have a pressure relief system fitted to the heater systemIt has caused many an issue. Last one was on a Mk1 Golf 1600. Blocked the heater. That caused a hose to pop.
The hot water was diverted to the passenger foot well, not on the driver feet.

Thanks for the offer, but got it all back together today.Have a workshop manual for the Scimitar and I am pretty sure there is a section on the c3 box in it. Can scan some pages if needed

With a welder and the appropriate rodsHow do you weld bronze?
Everything is to a point I suppose....Is that the non turbo Leyland engine?
Thought they were indestructible!
Not been to look at the cooler yet, but it’s not a late one with it on the side, just checked my photos.James that looks like the old 1004 perkins engine, some of those ran a water/oil cooler heat exchanger sandwhich plate under the oil filter, the later ones had the cooler strapped to the engine block but again were water fed. They can leech water into the oil, worth checking to see if it has one.

I was told some years back Audi used K-Seal due to a high number of porous castings. I have used it a few times mainly for core plug leaks etc, frustratingly on rebuilt American engines. All my Rover V8 engine's had Barrs Leaks in after being apart as the first one had a weepy core plug. Barrs claimed it to be a good lubricant for water pump seals and I never suffered a water pump failure on any of them.It is a bit of a bodge!
But its kept thousands of Rovers on the road for years
Yep, trailer tyres do get overlooked.
20 years younger tyre fitted and a quick and dirty blow over with whatever paint i had mixed means my trailer should be a bit safer
wot make of tire is that . the size of them are a bit thin on the ground now . that looks like a camac tire
