I'll get the pry bar out tomorrow, a crow bar, and a lump hammer........That’s French cars for you
Where's the thread for stuff you've tried to fix today?
Clio II, 1.6 petrol, power steering and air con. Eventually fought the starter motor out, bloody nightmare.
New starter motor, well, it's half way in, but no further. Just won't go.
Spoke to local garagist, he had the same issue, ended up pulling the transmission shaft.
Really, don't want to do that...
Want to cry....
So inaccessible...

All connected before switching on. Had it totally out to replace all the capsNo wonder it’s showing ‘not ready’ Johnny, there’s at least 20 tag eyes left disconnected on that power supply

another tip with the hot file tang method........stick a pair of gloves on when you put the handle on............I remember as an apprentice being shown this method, but negelected put some gloves on the wood stain residue took weeks to wear off my handsYesterday was a busy day, guests who left me many items, finished a few on going projects.
Had a few beers.
One of my on going projects is to make a set of files up "On how to do........"

Small file, reclaimed handle.

Bit of heat. The trick is to get the small end hotter than the file end.

When you fit the handle, you want it to slide on. Some times the wood "Screams" as the handle goes on.

So nowt to do.

But to clean it up and use it as a display item.
This plane arrived with no blade, wedge and worm.

The worm was treated by:
20 mins. in 90 secs. burst in the micro wave.
Then 4 hours in the vacuum bag with liquid worm killer.

I think they had the same arrangement as the 11. Original cable lasted years, the genuine replacement a year or so and was a right pain to fit.I stupidly offered to fix a Renault 19 16v clutch cable for my sister in laws dopey boyfriend in a Tesco carpark! What a poxy job! Never again and never have I bought a Renault after that .
I think the first thing to be installed in the engine bay at the factory was the clutch cable followed by everything else
