Not really made today, but someone said I'm not allowed out to play on Christmas day, and apologies for the poor picture. But made over the last few weeks with a bit here and there, a little stocking filler for Mrs DanZac.

Brilliant looks injection moulded. Not bad for a first attempt

All the marks that are on the original are replicated in the mould I made. The mould is in one piece to aid with parting lines being small as I didn't cut it much it very difficult to see inside the mould. Removing the original part caused more damage on the fill end and the wax I used dropped out.

This damage has also been caused by UV. @Brad93 this wasn't cheap the cost of the resin wasn't bad but the silicone for the mould was. If you can still get the parts from the vehicle manufacturer it may be a cheaper option. I'm not sure if the resin I used is suitable for temperature and pressure but the part is the washer tank fill neck that is behind the grill so only cold water and no pressure.

Just to make life simpler dropping the cylinder on the jack. 4.5mm hole drilled into the end of the handle, (slightly undersize with regard to the peg), then tapped onto the peg.

I was lucky. Was considering making a complete new plug, until I noticed where the peg was pointing in closed position.

Drilling & tapping a hole in the side of the plug head to screw a handle into would be another option. Not much stress on it.

The supplied tube/handle is a bit naff at gripping the pegs, isn't it.

It's just a bottle jack.
The lowering screw should unscrew all the way out (tip the thing on it's side to avoid the oil running out).
The issue with extending the pin, is the taper seat/thread will wear with use, so the position of the handle will eventually change and fowl.

I'd personally just make a complete new extended screw, and add a suitable handle that clears the jack/frame. The reason they're made compact like that, is so they can't get knocked and damaged/bent while being moved/stored.
