Fitting on air compressor was leaking because of a slight bodge I may have done a while ago shoving the wrong fitting in a few thread with a load of sealant whoops
Anyway good project for the lathe and used some screw cutting for a project for the first time and was working well cutting 18 TPI threads for this 5/8 UNF which I got from my Zeus book.
Cut a barb for the hose the other end then drilled through and internal chamfer to direct the air better I hope
Parted off..
And my threads fit ! , Not the cleanest or tightesr but screw in nice and a bit of sealant will hopefully keep the air in and stop trigging my compressor to boot up at night
