That looks like a fun project!!
That looks like a fun project!!
It seems the front fell off, that's not very typical I'd like to make that point...
Oooohh what's that
Loving that bender. Wonder if I have the where-with-all to make one? It looks like it might be just the job for some tight bends I've been struggling with.Made another "cockapoo head" as a plant pot stake for a friend. This diy bender works a treat.

That's the front end of a Fairey Gannet.
That does look a very tidy job, fair play.My lorry tailgate now complete for now. Thank f for that.

Now that's a cool looking planeThat's the front end of a Fairey Gannet.
Here's another picture of a Gannet, I'm the slovenly chap with his hands in his pockets in the front row!

It's my take on this one, I'm using a m24 bolt.Loving that bender. Wonder if I have the where-with-all to make one? It looks like it might be just the job for some tight bends I've been struggling with.
Now I can see in my workshop, I made a video of re machining the teeth in one half of a pull off clamp.
Any comments most welcome as I rarely get any on my videos
I certainly did and thank youYou've got "Machining" written "Maching" on the title.
You did ask for comments.
I have some BSW taps here @Maker, what size do you need?Nice rigid setup...

It's the body of a Godwin water pump, my dad chewed a hole in the bottom of the casting to get better access to a valve (Which I need to make next). I tried drilling it by hand but a 15mm drill through a nearly 15mm hole, in brass, was going to break my wrists. Boring head was much safer, would have been even easier if I had an angle plate (Or a vertical mill) but this worked fine. Just bored it out to a clean round hole and machined a plug to solder in.

Didn't have a big enough solid piece of brass so I made the plug in two pieces, and the inner piece moved while it was hot so it's not as pretty as it could be, I might put it back on the mill to clean it up. I thought about redoing it but it took ages to get the casting hot with my little torch. There were two stripped threads which I also bored out and plugged, need to buy some BSW taps to repair those.

The piston seals with leather cup washers, same diameter as a press I made years ago but deeper, so that just needed boring a bit deeper. No idea why I made it from such a massive chunk of steel, it was one of the first things I made when I got the lathe, I think I was just excited to turn something so big.

I tried it out but I think I might have overtightened it.

Looks like it would have worked if I gave it a few fewer uggaduggas.
Tomorrow's job is a check valve, there's three buried in the casting and very hard to measure, the one he took out looks like this.
