Parked in the badlands of Bedfordshire tonight and it's a bit quiet tomorrow so I've been told to have a steady drive north in the morning, whereupon my next task is to somehow fit a spare "H" frame to the suzie rack so I can store my sheets and sweeping brush and numerous other tranclements up out of the way .
Give it time . . .Thought you had given up driving?
The plan is to go over it again with finer paper, probably 120 and 240 grit, but I'm wondering if I should seal it with something first, some thin PVA or varnish to soak in a bit and stick all the fibres down, before I continue sanding?

Not so much missing driving, more a case of being bored senseless driving to the same place every day, staring at the same 4 walls every day, doing the same job every day, and having to spend break times with the same guys who wittered on incessantly about the same banal drivel every day.He fessed up a while ago he just couldn't live without the driving , or she said " GET OUT FROM UNDER MY FEET ! "
Never heard the word used anywhere other than home so I presume it's a Sheffield-ism.Word of the day that. Better than "tackle" and requires proper composition into the sentence. Going to use it at least a dozen times today.
Neat little trolleyThen, before we locked up for the night I helped my pal put a delivery away, thirteen ton and no overhead crane. The little dolly, pinch bar and blocks and slings, started at five, finished two and a half hours later:

One end balanced on the little trolley the other end hanging off a fork each bundle is a couple ton, end of the day and needed to be really alert and conscious of where my feet and fingers were at all times, it certainly focuses the mind:

It's a bit of an obstacle course but my pal has to work with it all now and where he is going to stack the finished parts is a bit of a mystery. View attachment 352341 View attachment 352345
Every day is a School Day (I have learnt something)Some highly specialised 3/8 bBSF bolts - well not really once I had figured out what radii was needed.
