Was back doing some altering to one of the Cheetahs I did at the beginning of last year.
The hauler was in this position.

It worked fine when the boat was working inby but in the deeper waters there would be 3 creels off the bottom at one time due to the depth and it was putting a lot of strain on the donkey engine, especially when it was a bit choppy.
The thoughts of the skipper were that if it was raised up it would be easier going for the hydraulics/donkey engine.
So it was chopped off and the angle/height/position was tested out and it ended up like this.

Again just a small thing sits under a desk unit, noisey as hell, case of leave it going and get out the garage.

Not today but over the last 2 weeks managed to make some more progress on the lifting frame

Cross beam ready for painting



6 days later it's yellow, cold weather really slows down the paint drying time



Lifting into place



Acquired some wheels off an old Dell Server cabinet, needed to slim them down to fit and open up the centre hole



Turned down some tubing from the scrap bin to make spacer tubes, think it was an old bottle jack handle off a Range Rover P38



Had to try the girder truck for size



And fitted the wheels



The toothed wheels are part of a roundtoit plan to have some drive mechanism to traverse the girder but for now its useable

Really pleased with how it turned out, few little tidy up jobs to do and still need to paint the diagonal bracing straps but can sort them.out again, got a D2 to get through MOT and a backlog of other stuff

Today I was at friends place, supping some coffee.
He showed me how to use a simple CAD programme on his computer, save it to a slug for his CnC machine.

Which is a dust cover for my new welder, a little big but will keep the dust off

while tiding up my garage i found something similar, one of those bags for holding leaves and garden rubbish, you would think it was made for the job fits my welder perfectly and is waterproof bonus .

Yard puss is full of cat puppies and has tried building nests all over the place, causing havoc in my boxes of bits

Attacked a lump of shuttering ply with a chainsaw , brushed up on my carpenteering skills and built a caternity unit on a high shelf for puss. 4" foam base and walls with a towel on top, she seems quite settled
