I do have a cunning plan to hopefully stop that happening.
The bush is merely to stop the shaft being scored as I feed it though, so is well over size.
I have this in this part of the workshop.
Excellent for attaching a 3 point steady from my lathe to and then jogging to align precisely(ish)

Its a corrugated iron wall, with four windows in it.
Its my new workshop, well its currently a woodshed, but one day it will be my next workshop.
Earth floor, majorly wide open, filled two three meter stretches today.
All re claimed corrugated iron, wood and windows. Two boxes of screws I paid for.
I don't know what to do about the gaps at the bottom?

I made this today, an extension to part of my workshop
Need to remove the shelves and make up a nylon sleeve before it becomes fully functional.

I looked earlier and couldn’t fathom what was going on but it all makes sense now!
A jig for bending!
I spent most of the afternoon seeing what bits of scrap I had to use, no plans and not even a fag packet, just a weld this here see how it does approach.
Used bits of flat as packing pieces etc until it seemed OK.
I may tart it up tomorrow, but then again may be not, great little time saver for the hooks.
Not sure where I picked up the idea could have been on here or Plasmaspider?

Nice job Ad. Useful tool. There is no reason you couldn’t use that to roll sheet too.
If the fixed roller is easy to change for bigger and smaller diameters and the rolling roller can be moved in and out to accommodate those changes you can roll different radius’s too. Could be an extremely useful tool. You could put groves in them for rolling bar and small diameter pipe too.
That little jig is purely for that job, nothing can be changed on that. I previously folded the hooks in a Clarke bench folder and it too ages and I was not to keen on the idea aesthetically!
But yes I agree one can make different rolls if needed, for me it would be a jig per job though.
I need to place some guide pins in that one, something just to catch the front edge of the sheet but not stop it being drawn forward after bending.

When my nana died my parents moved some of her stuff here. They took a repro Art Nouveau lamp which could have the shade detached be means of a screw on top, and the bracket detached by means of two screws on the arms. Unfortunately they overlooked these and in transit the bracket sheared the two 'cups' for the bracket.
I have a feeling it's monkey metal as it doesn't spark when ground. Fortunately that also means it's less brittle. I've soldered white-metal years ago (40K) but it was too fiddly in this case. I tried epoxy to great success, until I turned the bulb on and it became plasticky under the heat. (I've since bought an LED bulb but that's not really the answer so...)
Mechanical fix it is. Drill a hole into the arm and tap it to take a stud, then screw a new cup for the bracket on cut from steel bar. Simple enough job, and I got to use my recently refurbished Fobco.
Then just as I had the other cup to go, what happens? Yes, the drill press vice finally snaps. Previous owner had drilled almost all the way through the cast and today it snapped. No loss though, I got it for free... but it did mean I had to drill the last one by holding it in place with pliers, so it's off centre!
Still, it works. I just need to get it all back together now. Horrible lamp to work on, full of glue and car filler on the base made dismantling very difficult. Still, no match for a spade bit.
