Decided my fingers had survived long enough I thought I'd add wood chippings to my swarf making" skills" ( in the widest sense of the word ) So with the aid of a forum donated horse shoe , thanks HPS's , an axe head and a piece of a recently felled Ash tree I decided that an inverted kindling splitter was the safest way to go. Just a lump hammer from a bit more ash and installing the stove and 'bring on the winter'.
