Washing the butter in ice water to get rid of the whey was a pita but not as bad as welding on you back under the car getting weld splatter in your ear.

Did it in 4 lots, about a minute of kneeding in ice water each. Nitrile gloves would have been a good idea.

An old friend wanted me to raise the skirt of these leylandii

It ca be raised about 1/3rd but after seeing some issues, dead branches and a lot of rubbing damage, 6+ stems.. decided best to remove.

Needed the practise and plan to do some more tomorow, hopfully take the tops and start on the trunks.

I have sorted out a box for the remote control gear this morning. I am hoping to go flying later today and thought it would be best to at least look the part....
I re-used the packaging the printer came in and some hot melt glue. It will suffice until I get more of the breakout foam.
There is room for more batteries etc but I only have three for now.

They came through the post in a foam padded box so they will live on in the same luxury

After a few revisions, my 3d printed leaf collector shoot works. Leafs must be pretty dry or this get blocked. Nevertheless it work just need to pick the right condition use it etc.

How long did that take to print? The little box I did took 5 hours so that must have been days!

Quick crude sand cast of a 32mm lead throw ball.I spent zero time preparing the coarse sand which has been in a covered bucket for the last year.

Not perfect but it wont matter once its tied up in a monkey fist. 209g for the ball and 650g total.

Genuine RAM mounts for my bikes mirrors, not impressed.

So drew some up in Fusion and planned to make them from some aluminium but when I went to the workshop I couldn't find anything suitable so had to resort to making them from some 50mm dia acetal.


Didn't bother setting up drill and boring bar in the CNC so just used it to make the main shape.

Then put into the manual lathe and bore/counterbored them.

Then gave the a one way knurl so that they will hopefully grip enough until I can get some aluminium.

Well that was a disaster, the acetal was just too slidy even with the knurl.
So plan B, decided to try some adhesive lined heatshrink on them, biggest I had was 3/4" but managed to stretch it to get it on.

Mirrors back on and seem to be fine, will see how long it lasts but properly knurled aluminium should work better if this doesn't work out.

Improvised some tire storage. Need a step ladder but it's perfectly doable to load and unload.

Washed and cleaned these beforehand, Saab Aero 92 rims for a 900. I mean to sell them later so I'll have to get them down again, but I wanted them out of the way for now.
