I know plenty of people are loving this weather but I am not one, it is killing me, I long for a dull overcast sky
Today I got the gantry fitted, everything went ok except I had to shift a bracket that I had welded to the galluses, no big deal but still a pain.
Anyway a couple of pics.

Next job is to make up the sliding door for the side of the shelter, not looking forward to that

Thunder storms amd torrential rain here ffo the last few days.
Gonna be getting wet tomorrow. Need my tile saw set up and outsides the only option.

Sliding doors of any description are a pita.

An entirely spontaneous, random act of woodturning after walking the dogs this evening. It was going to be a wee sycamore bowl but the spalting was so nice I wanted to leave as much as I could of it so I hollowed it out; the hole is large as there were screw holes from the faceplate I'd used earlier.

There will be some welding at the weekend if not sooner!

@ Hood it looks to be taking shape well is the electric winch that I saw mounted in the previouse pictures going to be used as a means of hoysting the nets above the hopper ??

Yes although it is hydraulic rather than electric.

Thanks Hood will there be a fairlead or pulley mounted in front of the winch to stop the winch mount being subjected to a upwards pressure

As far as I know he is just going to take the wire straight off the drum to the hanging block. I haven't had anything to do with fitting that but I think it straddles the 4" box section below the shelter that is part of the winch guide on gear.

Cheers Hood just infested as I have done /do quite a bit of winching in the 4x4 world plus fitting my own and I was allways lead to believe those winches should not be subjected to a upwards force because the casing mounts are not disigned to take it I have two both electric one 12000 Lbs one 13000 Lbs on a single line pull put a single block on making it a double line pull and the capacity doubles

Made from a load of pins I aquired recently.
On the hard side but gives a nice finish.
Untouched except by the tool.

There won't be anyone there, he works the boat on his own and he will be working the gilson winch from below the shelter.

I made a footpath safe today.This 200mtr long wall was being pushed over by a long line of trees, we removed dozens of trees a few months ago but could not get TM permission to destump and remove wall until today.

So both machines . six guys, TM and guns ablazin twaz all done by four pm

What to do? Look in rivet box.



Find a rivet



Make a spacer from a piece of stainless



Then make a punch to spread it. Probably not necessary, but I had this HSS tool that looked fit for purpose



Ta-da!



Rough I know, it was a rather tough piece of metal and it'll probably never be used again.
