Can't see any tooling marks to suggest it's a facemill or shell mill.

We will await @Johnnybravo 's reply with the definitive answer, Personally I would have used either (or whatever was nearest) to try to keep the heat down. A million passes with a small endmill would be very counter productive.

Neither actually
Clocked the head so it was exactly perpendicular to the bed in both planes. Then wizzed a pinzerbor boring head over the top. It uses a triangular insert with pretty no much relief, so if your cutter isn’t exactly perpendicular it rubs a goodun. When set up correctly you get a sublime finish as it cuts on entry and exit. It’s a much better fly cutter than a boring head.
A lot of people get what they think is a good finish by deliberately inclining the head slightly. All fine and well if it’s cosmetic only, but your plate comes out dished,not flat

What I meant is that the time I spend on here over the years I could probably have finished my café racer and the blardy house renovation
All that stainless and a bit of aluminium flooring . . . The aluminium was never going to stay perfect!
Especially with the aggressive chemicals they use to keep the stainless clean and hygienic.
Where I worked they had a chemical to clean the ovens that would eat through that ally in an hour!
