Experiments in Etching.
Todays project. A piece of zintec. Rough copper plated by dipping in HCL + Copper sulphate. Vinyl stencil applied. (Silhouette cameo cutter + cheapest t'bay vinyl) Weeded. Etched by reversing the electrodes in my electrolysis rust remover tank. (10 mins with a 13.8v /2A CB power...www.mig-welding.co.uk

The other thread about etching got me interested and I had a go. Downloaded Inkscape and spent ages learning how to drive it. As I'd altered the gearing on my lathe to halve the QCGB feed rate, thought I'd start simple and make a small reminder tag in an attempt to avoid the inevitable future...www.mig-welding.co.uk
That's a nice design for a clamp. I see a new project coming on.Had three pieces of 3”x2” En8 bar to machine down, 700mm long. . Hacked the guts out of it in the small Cnc mill to turn it into a channel, then put it on the old mill for a lick to get it flat again. Evidently haven’t lost my touch on a manual mill

I may have some,not sure of mine is laurel or bay ,can you guide me first?If you can , would you let me have a few lumps of the baytree if they are two inches or more thick & over a foot long for my pen turning hobby .
