Following on from post #3842, finished this off. Trimmed height a bit and took just the right enough off so that the handle is in the correct position when fully tightened. I also turned a few 'embellishments at the end, because....well..... just because. I might just regret that move though I can always 'disassemble' it and turn the handle to round



On reflection, it would probably have been better to use round mild steel for the handle, but there can always be a Mk11......

Snap , there are far too many pipe wrench looking jaw marks on the end of the spindle's bearing adjusting nut for my liking .

I might even be able to get the taper bearings correctly set too...... which would be nice .

It still won't stop it imprinting your fingers.

Perhaps wear gloves if your hands are that soft & tender ………………. or wrap the knurling in masking tape

Excuse the poor photo, I didn't take it. and technically this wasn't made today either, but I forgot to take a photo when I'd done it. Brass relacement for the plastic part in the photo. It goes in a food processor, the thin end presses a micro switch and the thick end gets pushed down when the container is fitted correctly, or at least that's how it was explained to me

Immense fun. The problem is that the through hole is larger than the necked portion of the thread, so I have to nibble away, bit by bit, until the boring bar parts off the taper. It's then a case of hand finishing the piece on the off-hand grinder to dress the end, and then the bore with a Dremel to give clearance all the way through.

Finished...It still took about 40 minutes a piece though

Was very pleased to find the original smart and brown c spanner when I collected my newest lathe. Safe in the lh door.

Make them from scratch, if we knew precisely what the angle was (I make it about 6° 38' )

Still, they're done now.

Just finished this for a work friend who is retiring. Managed to finally use a set of Main Rotor head bolts I've had sitting waiting for a project that was just right for them. 16 of them, wirelocked on top and slit pinned at the nuts. Had to drill them all for the split pins, 2.3mm holes, 20 drill bits and some swearing got the job done. Inside is a bottle of Dam Raider gin.

Certainly tough. I had to regrind the drill 4 times.

No sure if this counts as made, adapted maybe? Was doing an autobox oil and filter change on the D3, didn't fancy squirting 5l of tranny oil in the hard way. Had seen a few pumps on eBay but couldn't justify the cost so chopped the end off an old garden sprayer that's been kicking round for years



Worked a treat, gonna make 1 modification and put a tap on the hose with a short pipe to stop the flow once the box is full, currently have to pull the pressure relief valve
