No sure if this counts as made, adapted maybe? Was doing an autobox oil and filter change on the D3, didn't fancy squirting 5l of tranny oil in the hard way. Had seen a few pumps on eBay but couldn't justify the cost so chopped the end off an old garden sprayer that's been kicking round for years

Worked a treat, gonna make 1 modification and put a tap on the hose with a short pipe to stop the flow once the box is full, currently have to pull the pressure relief valve

Certainly tough. I had to regrind the drill 4 times.

It's more for aerodynamics, I've read that increasing your travel speed when tig welding can help reduce distortion

Started off the day by making 8 feet that will be inserted into wood pads and the fibre glassed to the deck of the latest Cheetah for bolting the shooting table and donkey engine box down.

Then a bit of drawing and coding then on to the plasma with some 10mm Aluminium to make stanchions for a handrail I should have done weeks ago Also a couple of hinges for a hatch I welded up yesterday which is for a boat currently up the slipway. I was supposed to be welding some patches into the shelter deck today but it is a bit too breezy
I then slapped a piece of 12mm on the plasma and cut out the web for a davit I am making for the Cheetah.

Welded the hinges to the hatch.

I then chopped up some 3" Dia x 1/4" wall tube and welded up the Davit. Had to head home early to look after the dog as he is not liking the wind and as he is confined due to the operation he is not allowed to go in to his usual hidey holes.

Stay with it …. laugh at your mistakes .. and don't cry at the cost of new tools/ replacement bits & cutters .

Three years or so ago I learnt how to use an antique thread cutting lathe after having a mid range stroke /… hadn't use d a lathe since 1966 to 1969 during my apprenticeship at a military technical school.

In relearning things like the lathe I used to get confused as to which hand was to do which task . I had to write all measurements down and do manual maths to work out how big something was to be or how much metal to remove especially as the lathe is graduated in imperial & my micrometers & Vernier are metric.
It drove me silly for the first few months . Stroke folk clinic say doing the lathe , using both hands has allowed my brain to discover new pathways for fine motor movements and also it appears I've recovered a lot of memory & thinking skills that I thought was lost to me . Dyslexia up shows every now & then so most of my posts have to be re-edited several times .


All I need know his for a spell chequer that putts the wright word in the white plaice hand as knot bean substituting some fling clothes two hit .

Today I finally made the QCTP's instantly removable small 4 " dia, vice that fits in a QCTP's tool holder.
I've been promising myself to do for a few months after seeing someone set one up on YouTube.

It works well , has allowed me to used a woodworking 3/4 parallel CTC router bit as a milling cutter to mill off exactly half of a 19 mm round bar diameter back 36 mm from the end . I've milled 19 such pieces and drilled them so the flat faces adjoin when screwd together . These bit are for making knuckles that slide into some length of plastic conduit … It's for making adjustable /angle-able fine spray / misting heads for my wife's 12 mtrs of Bonsai benches

The odd half knuckle was a spare in case I messed one up .

I have taken photos ...now the test is...… Can I remember how to upload them and present them to a thread ?

Made some furniture for the man cave out of old barrel staves , got a landrover full from local, farm , plus a gallon of ruff cider, and I mean ruff , took ages to force it down, so far from the staves a garden chair , a 6 bottle beer caddy and the 2 bits in the pics.

Did a bit more to the net drum today. We have now decided on the location of it on the boat so I could get on with making the supports/legs.
First was to weld a plate to the brackets I had made for the gearbox/hydraulic motor and then weld legs to it.

I then did similar for the other side which has a housed bearing.

Couple of pics of the drum as it is so far, still have a few bits to add before I fit to the boat next week sometime.

Next it was on to a plate for mounting the hauler to for the Cheetah Cat. The owner had cut out the plate and I had to plasma out the mounting holes and then make a roller bracket.
The roller was needing to be 20mm from the backing plate so that the middle of the roller would be in line with the hauler middle. I didn't have any 20mm so had to weld a couple of 10mm bits together.

I then welded that to the base plate.

And then started to weld all the rest of the bits, I had cut on the plasma, to make up the complete bracket.

How rubbery is that stuff Philip?

Going to need something to replace rubber bushes seen here and might be good candidate.

Just about visible here and run through the lugs.

Anything printable that would offer some absorption of vibration? They isolate the countershaft from the lathe cabinet.
Seem to be welded to the shaft now so going to have to b destructive to remove them.

Might machine some moulds and cast them from rubber.
