Well that was anticlimatic.
Slots milled and fitted in place.
Plug the vfd in. Motor chugs but no movement
Dig out a manual and check the settings.
Still as they should be. Was fine when tested last year
Cba tonight. Il check wiring tomorrow.

Whats making you use a radial caliper and all the extra bracket needed...i bet a refurbed blue spot would of dropped right in thereToday I made prototype wooden bracket version 1.0 for my brake conversion on the street twin.
It's not perfect but being nice and close enough. Even threaded so the bolts hold it in place to make sure it fits well.
Next step is to get it 3d cad/scanned ready for cnc and billet.

I give up.Picked this VFD motor combo up from a member last year.
Tested it briefly and popped it away for future use.
After the above aborted test tonight I unmourned it and brought it inside to look it over.
It's definetly been apart before. Looks like the rotor was dropped but didn't damage anything vital.
Next checked all VFD end connections again all good.
Popped open the motor terminals for a look and I find its been wired star despite being run from a 240v inverter.
Rewired correctly and tested again. Still cogging but could get it to spin up by hand. Didn't sound to healthy.
Started wondering if PO had ****** around with the settings to get it running while wired star.
Reset to defaults and Boom.
Vibration is lid not torqued down. Refitted the fan and ready to go on the scroll saw.
Thanks.

Tonight I made a conclusion.
Pulled both the .55 and .75kw motors in the house and stripped out the jumpers. Metered em both and everything checks out.
Wired up the .75 set the Params on the VFD and same issue.
At least I know what's fubared now.
Really should fire them on the working VFD in the garage but il just order up something suitable from China and crack on.
Any recommendations for a VFD to power both the above.

The chinese vfd's are supposed to be good for the money, they are so cheap now that they are nearly disposable. The Huan Yang ones are maybe a bit better than the unbranded ones.
Just bought a cheap "inverter" brand jobbie
They all seem to be cut from the same cloth so bought from Amazon prime based on delivery dates.
Bonus in a way. New one is big enough to run both motors so il chuck one on the bandsaw to with suitable pulleys to get slow speeds for metal cutting and wood cutting with the motor near maxed out,
Aye. Low speeds never set lower than 30htz anyway but plenty of fans about if it becomes an issue. Primarily wood anyway.Just be careful the motor does not get hot if you run it at slow speeds for a long time.
this one got a bit more fancy now I have the plasma, it has the boats number cut in it
I can't help thinking you may be missing a trick by not having your business details on them as well?
Your dog looks a bit huntaway,I have one mixed with a collie.Made a sorting table used when sizing/boxing Velvet crabs. This is the 3rd I have made for boats in Arbroath, the second one I welded the guys initials into it so they could tell them apart, this one got a bit more fancy now I have the plasma, it has the boats number cut in it
