Learnt a lot making this one.

Proof is in the pudding.

Awaiting fixings to finish but just about done.
Will mill the motor end square to match too.
Cap heads nearest the table lock the assembly onto the non turning shaft. Didn't fancy relying on the two tiny grub screws that normally secure it.

So if I can be rude and ask - wherabouts did you buy that kit and was it pricey?

Bought a trolley from Screwfix for my Ar/CO2 cylinder. Took it home and immediately started welding on it to suit my needs. Added some locators to hold the cylinder centred, a rigid connection for the ratchet strap and a hook either side for storing hoses or cables.

Some welding is decent, some is not so decent.. i'm new to MIG.

Yesterday's work:

Made a new short ground connection lead for my baby Kemppi. While the fixed MIG gun is fine i have a number of different ground clamps and like to be able to switch as needed. It was a simple short cable with a ring terminal at one end and a Dinse socket at the other:

Today I made new railings for the house. Built a new landing outside the front door, cut and fitted the stair railings, reused the original posts, and started on the front railings. Just a gate to fit, a bit fettling, and a paint job left to do.






Ok, I admit it, it’s for a doll’s house, and they are made of balsa wood and plastic. But I had the afternoon off, and the mood took me.

Entering my 3rd childhood now, had my 2nd one early to beat the rush.

Today i did not measure twice, weld once.

Modifying the trolley for the argon cylinder..

I'll replace it with the same trolley as the other one. I also discovered my "locators" on the other one are far better. This is real cheap and nasty anyway, oh well.

Really like your Dinse short lead solution. Your post also reminds me I need to weld on a hose hanger onto my cylinder trolley.

Thank you, Yamhon. It really has made it better to work with, just now i was using it with a magnetic ground.

I've put hangers on both trollies, and still have a load of stuff hung off the handles..

Wanted a plumb bob yesterday, but had to make do with a chalk line/bob in one, but didn't want really want yellow chalk everywhere.
Bit of brass bar, a pen blank off cut and a brass bolt, and now I have one.
