Made this inductor for the welder
I used 2 microwave oven transformer cores and I welded them together leaving a 3mm air gap between them preventing the magnetic saturation of the core
Wound 10 turns of 16mm² welding cable
The input side has an 80cm pigtail cable
The output side ends in a panel dinse connector .
All this mounted into an inverter welder housing that I got outside year taking rain waiting for a project
All this made out of scraps
I have to make better connections but I can't now because I need some materials
So the purpose of this thing is give hot start and some sort of arc force to my inverter welder that doesn't have both of those capabilities .
My welder alone can run E6010 no problems but only after struggling to get the arc going
But with this things now it can start E6010 instantaneously and kept a longer arc
The weld you can see in the picture is made using a 3.2mm E6010 citoflex rod and 100A straight drag no manipulation
Without this "attachment" my welder has to give 150A and again struggle a little bit to get the arc going
Now it's way easier to run this rods I just need to practicing with more.
The arc is violent seems like welding using 200A big hudge arc and a big red flame coming out of the tip of the rod
I'm very happy

more exotica ,note how the stops are staggered , the sodium lighting is Jabberwocky ffor photos
amperage was around 160
max interpass 100c so needs air cooling after every pass takes around 12 hrs welding, lots of gas, purge is argon 2%nitrogen
torch high purity argon ,
machine is Kemppi mls 3000 watercooled
with knuckle head torch
ndt is ,xray ,dye pen and camera internaly

Brought my truck kettle back to life today. Didn’t realise just how grimy she was until I did a before and after comparison .

And I’ve just realised that we’ve been together for almost 30 years now. I fell in love with her when I saw her in a camping shop in Sheffield in 1990 and we’ve been together ever since, all over the UK, through good times and bad times. No idea how many pots of tea she’s been responsible for but I wish I had a pound for every one .

I was going to suggest taking them a few hundred miles away and putting them off in the middle of nowhere, but they'd just steal someone's car to get back home.

It happens way more often than what you think...
Essentially is a temporary solution until I buy a fronius transpocket ,but before doing that I've to buy a lot of things and pay a lot of things
Unfortunately customers are little bit hard to pay ,and my health makes me spend money
I have to do blood exam, urine exam, Rx,ecography , magnetic resonance tac, all this after 2 months of therapy
All this has a cost , also because I can't go to the jobsite and no-one pay my missing at work
Ps I'm not dieing , just a lot of things I have to do before solve my kidneys problem
So I've to wait and hope everything gonna be alright
And this Sunday Marquez won the MotoGP championship so I'm pretty upset

Would have a better effect strapped to the radiator grill, like a kiddies toy on a garbage operative’s van.

God help them if I did ever catch them, I know a number of pig farmers throughout the country. I always carry cable ties and rape tape, there’s a baseball bat just inside the drivers door too.

incidentally, there’s a video out there somewhere of a UK driver taking 4 stowaways on a minor 400km detour AWAY from Calais I believe they plead him to stop the entire journey

Diesel? Tried it in my Coleman stove once, green flames about 2 ft high, bit scary....

I practically grown up watching him since was in Honda , when I was maybe 3 years old.
He is a legend (have you ever played GTA? They put an Easter egg related to him)
He ended a race with no gearbox ...
He ran every big classes starting from the 500cc two strokes to today's
Marquez will never become a legend , just because the way he made lose Valentino and win Lorenzo
Before this episode Marquez was also someone to respect, now I practically hate him
