Spent 2½ hours on the lathe today turning this (pink paint is Dr Al code for EN1A-Leaded):

Lots of threading (two internal and two external M12 threads and an M40×1.5 thread) and a very precise 8° taper for the ER32 collet block. The rest was trivial. I really enjoy single-point turning threads, especially now I figured out how much more fun it is when you have an upside down tool and the lathe running backwards (my lathe chuck isn't screw-mounted so I can do this).
I then remembered to put a hex on the bottom of the ER32 collet block and made this ER slide hammer:

and used it to get the worm shaft out of my bandsaw .
What a great idea, adding the gripping power of a collet to a slide hammer, I like it.
