Yup, got that and it works well for what we need but TIG is the better process for this; far more precise and surgical.
Have you signed up for the evening welding course at Fife College yet? They start next month I think.

Just reminded me. Last time I checked was quite far in advance gonna check when they run them as Glenrothes isn't too far but isn't close either so needs to be a suitable day really.

Indeed! Probably a much simpler version as we'll be using machine screws instead of doing any turning or knurling; this class is a nightmare as it is without throwing that into the equation! They'll get onto the lathes next project for some simple stuff.

Hmm... that's odd. I was toying with doing the MIG welding course after doing the TIG last year, just something to do besides improving my own MIG welding, and I'm sure when I looked a week or so ago that one started at Adam Smith (Glenrothes) soon.... will see if I can find it.

Yes they’re 90* squares to clamp on while welding. These ones are 300mm x 300mm laser cut from 4mm steel.
I bought them on eBay a while ago and they’ve been really handy for quickly setting up a joint.

I’d love a set of Fireball squares but the prices are eye watering and these ones have been really good for what they are.

+1 I was only finding sellers selling the DXF files, which I don't have the capability to produce from atm. Seem to be a fair deal for that price.

I use big ply triangles with holes for clamps for timberwork.
Works a treat
Don't do much with metal however gonna have to make a roof rack soon.
