Proceeding with the hammer and got stuck
I don't know if paint the head in red or just clear coat both hammer head and handle
Ps notice the logo it's 37mm long used finger nails paint and brush to add colour to it

I'd clear coat the head or leave it as it is.

Don't clear coat it. Unless you just want to show it off.

Linseed oil and a stain on the handle. A light brown will hide any small blemishes on the handle.
A darker one will give the appearance of age.
Neet linseed oil is good if you plane to use it.
Soak both ends.
Apply with a cloth and wipe it well in. Little and often. You will soon feel the wood telling you if you have to much or too little.

The head.
Warm it up and apply bee's wax. Let it seep in and repeat.
Buffing off the surplus between coats.

It you look back you will see a few I have restored.

I'm with the Vark on this one but I'd not even treat the head, just use as is and give it a run past the bench grinder with a wire brush on it periodically.

I've already clear coat both handle and head
I don't plan to use I just like hammers
I can't find lindsen oil here where I live
The other handles I've clear coated still fine after years using them so I don't think might be an issue
But oiling the handles is something I would like to do because I've seen doing it on YouTube, the results are amazing
I have to ask at my local ironmongery if they can order some

It's too tall, and it turns out upholstery isn't as easy as I'd imagined. Works as a concept though.

(There is a guy that goes home to pick up metals )

Today I've also found the time to replace the cord armour boot on my Bosch GWS18-230 , hopefully I will find the time to replace ball bearings ,powercord ,an fit a proper cee plug on it

Today I made lots of bits:

A mixture of materials: 303, box section, EN8 and EN3B plus some M16 threaded rod and nuts and some off-the-shelf feet.

Tomorrow I plan to do some welding and hopefully it'll turn into something useful. Alternatively I might have messed a lot of bits up (or I might mess up the welding), in which case I might make some scrap tomorrow!

Indeed it was, gate was the same dimensions as the one I made for our house a while back so all I had to do was change the number then regenerate the code

Spent a bit of the morning tigging all those bits together and the material support thing is finished. Photos are rubbish, but I didn't really fancy going outside to take better ones today!

Three different views:

At the the height it's set at in the photos (near the bottom of its adjustment range) the top of the roller is at the same height as the bandsaw working surface so it'll be useful when I'm cutting long bits of stock up. The screw going up the middle is M16 threaded rod, thread-locked into the top piece; the upright has a bit of 20 mm square EN3B welded onto the end; an M16 tapped hole runs through the middle of the welded-on bit. The threaded rod is about 500 mm long, so there's plenty of height adjustment range if needed in future (or if I'm cutting stuff outside on uneven ground).

The roller is 303 stainless, just because I found a convenient bit in the skip at work. The bearings that the roller runs on are skateboard bearings (because they're really cheap - I bought a job lot of them a while ago). It probably doesn't need bearings, but I figured it was good to practise accurate turning and welding to get it running smoothly.

I'll probably psyche myself up to painting it at some point, but I doubt that'll happen until the weather is a LOT nicer than it is at the moment.
