Those Stabila levels lost their rigidity and reputation years ago, much less material in them than used to be. 4 of us on site each with Stabila boat level, only one reading accurately.

Don’t know what you lot are on about, my stabila boat level reads level. I’ve tried it on a levelled milling table. Identical to that fat max.
My grip about the Stanley is the vial is dark. You can’t see the bubble in poor lighting. Also the adjustable angle bubble has gone loose, so doesn’t hold its position.
Both float about in my tool bag with all my other tools.
To be fair the stabila has more dink’s than the fatmax, softer aluminium or something.

New self made boring bars work a charm. Considering the bored part starts 100mm down from the top of the part and ends 165mm down. Bang on size. Perfect finish. Well happy. Thread milled M36x2 thread also perfect. Think it’s time to quit whilst I am ahead...lol

Cleaned it up made a new handle ,glued them together
Tomorrow I will paint it after cleaning the epoxy
Little bit heat shrink tubing near the head (exactly where the tape is )
Was thinking to put some heat shrink in the lowest part of the handle covering the wood for about 10cm but I'm not sure
Surely I will ingrave the fake "mass" logo onto the handle as I did with my sledgehammers
I started restoring it thinking to make a baby clone of this sledgehammer in photo

It’s all I have done since the middle of November. Making 3 of them. Not at liberty to say what they are or who they are for. Overly complex designed by somebody who has never assembled anything more advanced than Lego....

That pattern was from roughing out the scallop with a 25mm milling cutter,180mm long. That hole is situated on a taper,hence needing to mill a scallop before being able to get back in with a drill. Used a gun drill to bang the 15mm hole through from the other side,320mm away. (15mm hole can be seen at the bottom of the stepped pocket,below the thread.

Went by Waitrose on the was home and looked in the discount section and found two 1 kg lamb joints on the bone so i cooked them for the meat eaters at mine and now they are suffering from eyes bigger than the belly pains.
and yes there was mint gravy and mixed veggies to make it healthier..

I've a scrap flat 4 Subaru engine also destined to become a coffee table. It's been buried in the corner of a shed for 15 years but I will get around to it someday....!
It's the same shed that has the box of round tuits.
