You would be amazed what I did on my Myford badged Drummond M Type (my first lathe) Wors one to do was bore a hole of 25mm dia through 3" dia x 150mm long stainless, took a while and a lot of drill sharpens as the drill constantly chipped when the motor stalled
But yes a biggish lathe is really required for the stuff I do, the CNC one is bigger than the manual one but I use the manual more simply because most of my stuff is one off work and often made up as I go. I would certainly love a manual lathe the same make as my CNC one, a Tarnow TUR-50SN, it is a beast of a machine compared to the Triumph even though the capacity is not that much more.
