All of them. Tend to find it's better, from a cost viewpoint overall, to buy the kits, a lot of the time. The 2 10.8V badged ones were a charger, battery combo I got initially. The others have come as part of full kits.

I still wish Bosch would get off their backside & make a 12V SDS. Pretty much the last tool I want, & they don't make one. All the other brands do.

I wish Bosch would bring the 18V right angle drill in to the uk, yes they do a 12V one with the interchangable chucks but it all looks a bit too much of a work around, I want a complete unit designed as a right angle drill.

Non-welding related, but today I made a thing shiney.

Today, in a moment of weakness, I set out to polish up the h/light lenses as they were just starting to get a bit 'cloudy' again. Since it was a nice morning, not too hot and we've missed all the torrential rain, I thought "I'll just polish the bonnet and front wings while I'm here.......:whistling: Cue my doing right round the car until the humidity got to me and I decided enough was enough. She should really get the full treatment...clay, machine polish, glaze, wax and [possibly] sealant, but I'm not up for that just at the moment. ops:

That just leaves me with the front bumper/valance to do, but it won't be for a few days as my pal is coming to stop over, with a 'secret' job he wants me to weld for him. 'Secret' because he wouldn't say what it was, just that it'd involve 3mm steel...

Anyway, this is what I ended up with - quite pleased for 17 years old and 137,000 miles on her. Fitted a new boot badge as the old one was starting to get a bit 2nd-hand looking. ops:

Got her booked in with the nearest Dealers because of a safety recall - earliest available slot....15th October . Apparently it's to do with the wiring in the boot and if they find a problem they'll need the car for 2 > 3 days. Might get a nice new BMer as a loaner if so...View attachment 245970

I can't believe a manufacturer would do a recall on a 17-year-old car - maybe just say "Put it in the bin, Sir"

She is looking good. I was looking at my faded bonnet badge and thinking it looks like the new softer coloured BMW logo, still it is better than the carbon fibre look one on the steering wheel centre boss which I originally hated but have learned to live with for now...

You mean 'Pliers Wiring No 81' They were/are bloody good, and yes, I still have a pair which get used all the time - they never seem to wear out!

IIRC that was the tester in the thick, leather case and if it was, I found mine a few years ago in the back of my old shed. Unfortunately, it was completely corroded and covered in mould

I left BT in 1986 when Mercury Comms started in the UK - seems like a lifetime ago!

It’s 40 years since I was on the tools! 30 years driving a desk & 10 years retired. Guess which I enjoy the most.

Correct, Meter multi range 9083. I’ve still got one, but last time I tried I couldn’t find a battery for it.

Bracket fitted and securely bolted in place.

Cylinder in place. I can now get a position for the bracket that will contain the bottom of the cylinders.

Nice bracket, like the idea a lot but are they held by the valve stems?
The bottom bracket will be dealing with the forces involved in a possible collision I presume?

It is a lifting section on the cylinder that is secured in the frame, see pic below.

The bottom bracket will help in that respect but I think the bracket I have so far will stop any movement even in a crash, it is 8mm Aluminium and bolted with M8 bolts.

The lower bracket I have just drawn up, was going to get fancy and get Alu rolled to a circle but then I thought what is the point All I need is to secure the cylinders from sideways movement.

Yes rope is just until I get the bottom bracket made. Should get it done today but just in case I don't I tied it in.

Made a small ratcheting long reach tap wrench. My normal ratcheting one was too big.
Basically tacked a nut on the back of a cheap tap wrench.
Saved me about 2 hours of moving pipework to get my arm in to tap one hole.

The bracket itself rather than the knob specifically is the craning point but it is an all in one casting.

I got my new Dunlop K82’s mounted onto the rebuilt wheels then I got excited and but the rest of the bike back together.

Making some adaptors, starting with a parkside 20v battery torch/bannana plug/usb charger.

As I dont have a 3d printer, I thought Id try layered ABS sheet that can easily be cut with a knife.

3/5 layers cut. The layers can be glued solid with MEK solvent slurry.

Most tool bodies and battery casings are glass filled nylon, marked PA6 GF30 or similar. MEK will not stick to, or harm this, so the layers can be clamped up in place to cure, which I intend to try.
