As you say getting the writing in the correct orientation after it's all folded is sometimes a challenge.

Thanks for the advice about the air tools. At the moment mine live in a dusty drawer. I think an air tool bracket is in order. I might be able to get one knocked up this weekend.

I made a big dent in my pile of shale by moving it somewhere else

Dad brought his 4t dumper over to speed things up. Which after moving about 50t then blew a hose on the dump ram . Then the day got even better because in order to extract said hose to have a new one made requires undoing two clamps that hold the hoses in place through the pivot. Except I think they fabricated the dumper around the clamps. Managed to get one off, luckily didn't round off the Allen head because I don't think I could get anything other than a 6mm Allen key into the hole.

To get access to the second one necessitates removing the drop box that takes the prop from the gearbox, has the handbrake and splits the drive to front and rear. What an absolute **** of a design!

Except it's not my bloody dumper

Although when I phoned Dad this evening he did say he had a new set of pads to fit to the handbrake but it looked like someone had welded the pin in previously. So on my way to get the hose, hopefully tomorrow, I'll drop the box off with him on the way so he can have a fiddle on a bench.

All I wanted to do was move some stuff

I think that’s Americans who barely use their showroom tools. Ours have been stored on the floor, outside, caked in mud and rain and still work. I don’t think a bit of dust going through them will harm them. Most good air tools have a gauze or sintered filter in them after the quick connect.

Indeed, one of the reasons most mining drills are air powered

Specs were , fit a 50 ton excavator and have a SWL 5 ton ...I think I achieved that SWL with a bit extra haha

Got a few coats of satin black onto my fire guard. It’s a lot more solid than the old Argos flat pack one it’s replacing.

It takes a bit of time and effort getting them right, easier to buy one already done

Made myself a little poorer by ordering flowers delivered for V-day

Made up a an anchor point to install in the concrete slab of the garage. Handy for a bit of extra security if I feel it's necessary to chain anything up; will fold flush against the floor.
